First Birthday || Balloon Garland

When we found out the the weather was going to be good for my daughters first birthday we decided that the back porch would be the perfect place to have it. We have this 10' cedar table that we built with the help of a friend so I wanted to highlight it with a pretty balloon garland.

I've never made one before but I've seen them online and wanted to try it! I bought a electric balloon inflator which really made it much quicker than I expected. I found this one on Amazon for $20.

I roughly measured out a ribbon the length of the garland I was wanting. Then after blowing up 5 or 6 balloons at a time, (I didn't want to get swallowed by a ton of flyaway balloons) I individually tied them to the ribbon with a smaller piece of ribbon. This way I was able to slide the balloon down after tying it and cluster them closer together.

I would just mix  the colors to add variety and blew up some balloons halfway to add some depth. Afterwards we hung it over the table and I weaved some of the faux garland through it to make it match the boho theme of the party.

I loosely tied the garland in so it wouldn't go flying out when a gust of wind came through.

And thats it! I bought about 200 balloons total and used less than half of that. Overall it took about 2 hours to make. So not too bad! It was the perfect statement piece for the party.

Let me know if you try it and how it goes!
