First Birthday | Flower Child - Designer Lip Service

My little girl is one! I can NOT believe it... I feel like all the things people told me about time going by faster after you have a child is truer that I could have ever imagined. The past year has flown by. Trying to soak up every moment can be hard when your sleep deprived, but an event like her first birthday is something I will never forget. I decided on a bohemian theme with pink and plenty of flowers. I know... a little cliche but pretty so I didn't care. I figured I would do the theme I wanted before the unicorn/princess themes are requested. ;-) When we found out it was going to be pretty that day we decided to have the party outdoors in our screened in porch, plus it worked with the theme. I made a ballon garland over the table which surprisingly didn't take as long as I expected... You can see the tutorial on how I made it here.My sister in law of MaryCarmenCakes made this amazing cake. It was beyond what I expected! We decided on a strawberry cake/cream cheese filling on the bottom and a vanilla/white chocolate mousse on top. And yes it tasted just as good as it looked!I made the headpieces the morning of and shockingly my daughter kept hers on the entire day. After of course we distracted her a bit when we first put it on her head :)For the takeaways instead of toys or candy (which was covered with the piñata) I wanted to do something that involved a little learning. I made little seed pots with dirt that the kids could plant/grow. They were so simple to make and a total hit! You can see a step by step on how I made them here. The adults loved them too.

Our loved ones made it such a memorable day with our little girl. It was so fun I am already thinking about next year... although I think Alexandria will want a little more say in the theme. ;-)
